Raising funds in '85 and a couple Knock-Knock Jokes

I took a look back On This Classic Day during The Nooner and told you about the anniversary of the recording of ‘We Are The World’ from USA for Africa. The final recording session took place on January 28th 1985 and, as promised, here is the video that was made.

Golden Globes

Here's a list of winners

Before I get into talk about the Golden Globes - I just wanted to thank everyone in advance for the donations to the releif efforts in Haiti. If you haven't given yet, but want to, you can click here

Now on to the Globes.
I have to say it - I thought Ricky Gervais was hilarious! I find him to be very funny and I think he did a better job than some critics are saying.
One improvement I would like to make to the show (and all similar awards shows) is this:
I don't care who you are or how important you think you are - 45 seconds is plenty of time to thank everyone.
Thank you parents, thank your spouse, say a quick word about 'everyone who helped out' and get off the stage.
If your acceptance speech is the first time you're letting someone know that you appreciate them, then you need help with your people skills and an awards night mention will not fix that. Done.

Here is a full list of winners from last night's Golden Globes.
