RCMP on marijuana movie
A week after the documentary "Cannabiz" aired, a local RCMP officer is weighing in with his thoughts.
The movie, which focuses on the economy of BC marijuana and takes place primarily in Grand Forks highlights the dependence of the Kootenay Boundary and the seemingly futile battle by law enforcement to fight it.
Staff Sergeant Dan Seibel with Nelson RCMP says his thoughts are the film only grazed the surface of organized crime and their connection to the Kootenay cannabis trade...
Seibel adds he also has some concern the movie may appeal to certain people, who may find marijuana cultivation in the Kootenays an alluring business to get into.
