Beer truck mishap

They may have had some volunteers to help unload the truck, but it didn't come to that on the Kootenay Pass overnight.

A semi, fully loaded with beer, lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle yesterday afternoon and went into the ditch.

Fortunately RCMP say there were no injuries and damage was minor...but it caused some delays on the pass while crews worked to get it out.

Also a security guard had to spend the night on the pass with the truck to make sure it was still fully loaded in the morning.

Police don't have a lot of information about the offending vehicle, other than the fact it was a white van.
