Radon Gas problem in Castlegar

Radon Gas testing has been ongoing in the City of Castlegar..... This past year Dana Schmidt, Program Director of the Radon Gas Detector Program, has been collecting data from various locations.

Schmidt says his findings show the city has a significant problem

Schmidt says one solution is for the city to implement  stronger building codes which will protect new dwellings....also he hope residents will take advantage of the complementary detectors available at city hall.

Radon gas....a unique combination of highly concentrated uranium has been linked to lung cancer.
