Complaints made last year against Nelson City Police have been deemed unsubstantiated.

That conclusion has been drawn from a final report issued today by the Nelson City Police Board in relation to the Kyle Snider case.

Complaints were lodged on Snider's behalf, a war resister who was living Nelson at the time, after alleged misconduct in connection to his arrest back in 2007.

Nelson Mayor John Dooley says he's pleased with how the investigation was conducted, and the result.

Complaints were lodged after Snider was arrested at his home in Nelson.

It was alleged police made quote "misleading statements during the a meeting of the Nelson City Police Board regarding Snider's access to legal Council."

The investigation was conducted by a member of the Abbotsford Police Department, and reviewed by the Province's Police complaints commission.
