Leg hold traps kill dog near Creston

A horrifying incident just outside Creston is causing concern for Paws, Creston's Pet Adoption Society.

Steve Austin was out hiking with his dog Rosie, when she got caught in two leg hold traps just off Goat River Road near Kitchener...her back legs were crushed and she had to be put down.

Paws spokesperson Vicki McDonald says the traps were set in a well used public recreation area, a few hundred metres from a Provincial Campground.

McDonald says a child could have been caught in the traps.

McDonald says at this point they're not sure who set the traps.
