Arrow Lakes budget balanced

Three teachers had to be laid off  for the Arrow Lakes School District to balance their budget for next year. 

The district also had to cut hours for Special Education Teachers, tap into surplus money from previous years and they found extra funds within their personnel and individual school budgets. 

Board Chair Patty Adam says it was a frustrating process.

Adam says the district is one of the fastest declining enrolling districts in the province, and having to deal with the same issues that larger districts do,  makes it very difficult to keep things running smoothly.
