Routine hand washing may be on the decline despite all that is known about its importance. A recent survey conducted by Echo Research for the soap and detergent association found that only 85 per cent of respondents say they always wash their hands after using the washroom, that's down from 92 percent in 2006.

Christian says that hand washing is something that people need to without fail several times a day and is especially important with cold and flu season just around the corner.
