'SPORTS ILLUSTRATED' LISTS TOP-EARNING U.S. SPORTS STARS: Sports Illustrated magazine released a list of the 50 top-earning American athletes based on salary, winnings, endorsements and appearance fees. The list is made up of 22 NBA players, 14 Major League Baseball players, nine NFL players, three golfers and two NASCAR drivers. The top 10 are (with earnings rounded):
- Tiger Woods (golf) -- $99.7 million or 273,000 per day!!!
- Phil Mickelson (golf) -- $52.95 million
- LeBron James (NBA) -- $42.4 million
- Alex Rodriguez (baseball) -- $39 million

- Kevin Garnett (NBA) -- $34.75 million
